Yasmine Hammamet is only a ten minute taxi ride from Hammamet, it's a new resort with a brand new medina and some very expensive yachts in the new marina, the pirate ships that sail along the coast full of tourists dock at Yasmine and one of the best restaurants in Yasmine is on a ship that is permanently docked at the marina, you may have to book for this.

The Jasmine flower is the Tunisian symbol of life and happiness and this is where Yasmine Hammamet gets its name from, the resort covers over 4km of coastline and has lots of hotels most of them 4 or 5 star and the new medina has a covered souk (market) with lots of restaurants and cafes plus a casino and just across the road is a theme park called Carthage Land, the resort is very much purpose built and is clean and caters for the upmarket European tourist.

It is much better to go to Yasmine in the high season because a lot of the shops and eating places shut during the off season, a lot of the entertainment is in the hotels so make sure that you pick a good hotel that you will enjoy spending time in, you will get locals come into the hotel lobby area selling you tickets for the sailing boats and trips to Carthage etc but remember a short cheap taxi ride will take you to Hammamet town centre.

The St Tropez of Tunisia is how Yasmine Hammamet is often described and when you see the marina and the promenade with the high class hotels and restaurants you will know what they mean, if you are staying in Hammamet or even Nabul then Yasmine Hammamet is well worth a visit you may even want to take one of the horse drawn carriages which is a great way to see the town.
