In Tunisia the hotels have to be seen to be believed, you get a four star hotel for the same price as a three star in Europe and much better service, the waiters in the hotels are really proud of their jobs and if you wish you can just lounge by the pool and when you want a drink just raise your hand and a waiter will soon be there asking for your order, it is pure luxury.

The only place to get alcohol is in the hotels or the restaurants but that is not a problem because you are encouraged to visit the other hotels and they are glad of the custom, in fact the nightlife is centered around the hotels and most of them have their own entertainers called animation staff and they also book acts that travel around the different hotels such as fire eaters, transvestites, and snake charmers, so if you don't like the entertainment in one hotel then just go to the next one up the road and see what they have on, you'll never be bored, some hotels even have discos and there is even a hotel called the Sol Azure that has the only casino in Hammamet, but take your own money not dinars.

Almost all of the hotels will have a desk where you can change up money and they also have safes in the hotel rooms so your valuables are safe, the normal way to get around is by taxi, the taxis are plentiful and cheap and a ride from your hotel to the town centre is only about one tenth of the price of a taxi in the UK, it is best not to hire a car in Tunisia because they seem to have their own way of driving which although it seems safe (you rarely see any accidents) it is different to the way we drive in Europe so it's best to leave it to the locals, the taxis all have meters and a small tip is expected, in fact a tip is also expected by the hotel staff but it only needs to be a small tip.
